For the past four days I have been waking up at 6am, trekking down the mountain from where I am staying in Evergreen and heading into Denver to cover the DNC. Invesco Feild is the home to the Denver Broncos, named after one of the largest investment companies in the world and, come next Thursday, will be host to some 70,000 Obama fans supporters as he accepts his parties’ nomination for President of the United States.
This morning I attended a media event at the stadium that, with welcome speeches from Colorado Sentor Ken Salazar, Colorado Governor John Ritter and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper opened Invesco Field to the media to shoot B-roll and have a look around before the Secret Service closes it down till Thursday.
The event was announced by email at 8:00 this morning and was decidely small and low key.
