I have been getting interested in portraiture. I find it difficult…very challenging. What I love about straight-out photojournalism / documentary photography; namely that it is as real as possible, is a hard thing to achieve in such a contrived situation as a portrait setting. The photographers that are good at it amaze me.

Things have been slow for the past week and I have filled the time by continuing to shoot TMAX 400 and developing it my self. The frames are no better than I would shoot otherwise but I definitely enjoy the process; changing bag, kitchen sink chemicals and scanning with my Coolscan ED 5000…nice and slow.
